Brief history of the Club

The Farm Indoor Archery Club began in 1980 under the banner of the Ingle Farm Recreation Centre and the City of Salisbury.  The Club was formed by Jim Hale and Allan Daff in 1979 and commenced as a club in 1980.

At the time it was listed as the only indoor archery club in South Australia, and being only a small group has been a continuous and viable club to the present.

The club was responsible for the inclusion of Ratings and the recognition of classes and records to be included in the Archery Australia Rules for indoor archery and this has encouraged archers in the indoor clubs to stay longer and enjoy their shooting more.
Jim Hale and Graham Jones have had a very large input into improving impressions and standards of indoor shooting in South Australia.

Features of the Club 

The Club boasts indoor and outdoor shooting facilities with the FARM offering shooting distances of 18m, 25m and 30m and BIRDWOOD (located on the Birdwood High School oval) offering shooting distances from 15m to 70m.

Shoots at the FARM are held Sundays (9:30am), Wednesdays (10am) and Friday nights (7pm - 9:30pm) and at BIRDWOOD 9:00am to 11:30am Saturday mornings.

 A weather policy applies for BIRDWOOD and it is advisable to ring Jim  (mob. 0418 895 680) or Lee (mob. 0422 174 047) if the weather is inclement. If the temperature on Friday evening (on channel 7's 6 o'clock news) is forcasted for 38 degrees or hotter then phone the above number to confirm if the shoot is on, in most cases it will be cancelled.
